NFL Week One Picks
Nothing hits better than the first NFL Sunday. Having zero plans other than rotting on the couch, eating good food, and watching 8 hours of football is one of the best feelings in the entire world, and I’m just glad to be back. I always struggle with week one picks in the NFL, but this year I think I’ve narrowed it down to a few good ones.
Browns at Jaguars UNDER 40.5 (-110) (1 Unit)
Simple formula here. The Browns defense is solid. The Browns offense is complete dogshit. I see the Jags pulling away in the second half once the Browns defense is a bit worn down, and I struggle to see any way that the Browns offense can generate more than 10 points. I think we could be looking at a 31-7 type of game.
Bengals Team Total OVER 27.5 (-105) vs Buccaneers (1 Unit)
Even though the Bengals have been notoriously slow starters under Zac Taylor, I like them in week one, especially on the offensive side of the ball. Taylor finally made the smart move of playing Joe Burrow in the pre-season, and I’m expecting Burrow, Chase, and Higgins to come out looking sharp. I still don’t really trust the Bengals defense, so I’m just sticking to their team total and avoiding the spread on this game.
Jeremiyah Love Anytime TD (+210) (1 Unit)
Sure, Jeremiyah Love hasn’t taken a single snap in an NFL game yet, but I’d argue he’s already the Cardinals best player. I’m hoping for a heavy workload from the third overall pick in the draft, and I love the chances of a touchdown in his rookie debut. I expect the Cardinals to get him at least 15 carries and maybe a pass or two out of the backfield. If he can get to 15-17 touches, I’d feel confident that at least one of them is for a score.
Jahmyr Gibbs ATTD, Bijan Robinson ATTD, Jeremiyah Love ATTD, Saquon Barkley ATTD, Colston Loveland ATTD Parlay (+3209) (0.1 Units)
Why not?
